I loved the colours and compososition in this photo, bart, but found the burnt out areas (presumably where the beam from spotlights first hits the stonework) a bit off-putting.

I notice you were shooting JPEG; do you not have a RAW option with the EOS 350D? Shooting RAW would give you so much more exposure latitude, you can do a lot of post-processing on a PC to keep highlights under control, before saving as a TIFF or JPEG.

Just a thought.
