Alida, you are right about the colors surrounding her pale face. I think the b/w version worked better for her.

Thanks dennis, I appreciate your view. The pale face of the girl is probably due to the daylight she was nearby to. The old man was sitting back in the shade.

The colour seems a bit off on the girl's face, thought the man's seem fine. I suspect it had to do with the setting. The composition and depth of field are well used here, and the expressions on the faces suggest a story unfolding. The strong colour highlights in the background and on the girl's coat tie the image together. So perhaps a bit of colour adjustment in the area of the girl's face and this picture is a winner. Nicely captured.
