Cheers Eb, I was using a polarising filter and a ND filter, it was extremely bright this day. Thank you for your constructive comment it is much appreciated

Certainly well done, Daniel! Your parallel positioning of the subject for depth of field is perfect. With the shiny skin (carapace?) it is difficult to control reflections and maybe a polarizer would have helped. Still, the image is extraordinarily detailed and clear!

Thank you very much Andre for your comments. The lighting was just right and comming from the right direction when I took this, so it shows up the hairs very nicely.

I think my double hand held photo worked. (I was holding this insect and the camera when I took this). So of course could get everything I wanted right before firing that shutter

Hi Keith, I guess the true name for this would be double hand held :-).

Thank you for your comments

Amazing. Who needs a tripod? :)) Holding on to it while taking pic makes it even better lol. Looks like it needs a seal replaced. Has a bit of oil leak. Fantastic shot (and capture hehe) Awesome detail Daniel. 10/10 favourite. Cheers Keith

Hi Daniel,
A beautiful close-up, rich with detail. Amazing to see the little hairs on his head and underneath.
Well done!

Thank you very much Riny, glad you like it.

I cheated with this shot :-). The cricket flew past me and landed on some grass, so I went and picked it up and held it while I photographed it
