Hallo Dave, I love this shot, great lighting and composition, the sheen on the petals is capured perfectly. Also, just the right balance in the background, the way one flower head is isolated, the other connected to the stem etc.
Also, thanks for 'being there for me' and ready to comment on my few recent offerings; I've struggled to do anything worthwhile lately, hence infrequent posts.
Hope to be back in business big time from now on, though. Quite excited with my first digital SLR (Pentax K10D) and the possibilities it offers eg wider angles of view, smaller apertures etc.

B&W for flowers is usually not my favorite but it works so well here since the flowers are white. It give them the apparence of almost "silky" in nature. Very pretty. Del.

Hi Dave,
This is one of your nicest florals! The Lily is perfect for B&W, as already mentioned below. One of the best parts of this image is the nice subtle light and greyscale of the leaves of the plant.

As lilies should be, Dave! They are very good in details but their great tones introduce some visual softness and thus a delicate look too. The balance is also very nice both in exposure and in composition. There is no too much and no too little here.
I see only some tiniest pixelation effects on the edges of some petals, but that's all. A great one!

Excellent stuff Dave. I don't normally like B&W flower shots but this works exceptionally well. Perfect type of flower for this conversion. I like the composition and deep black around the soft white flower heads. Very nice use of the backlight as well.
