This is indeed a BIP! And an image of the day - my day at least!
And I'll rather try to write some meaningful comment here, than simply typing an endlessly long (and endlessly disturbing) series of "+" that bring nothing more than endless stunning about an image that doesn't appear as one expects to find it on the html-page.
But first of all a small advice to Naseer. Naseer, with all respect and complete agreement for your enthousiasm, at least take some time to add line breaks in your series of "+" since they simply destroy the well balanced layout of the page. This little care should be immediately understandble as the least respect for the photographic work of the people and also for the design work of the developers of this site, couldn't it?
On to the image. It is unimaginably strong in details! And we shouldn' stop at the face of the old man in the foreground. Take a look, a concentrated look, at the thinking man in the background. Exactly the same amount of sharpest details! Ictenbey, alone for that you have a small masterpiece. That man in the background pops up in 3D plasticity in front of my screen! Not to speak about the textures on the clothes of the people.
Then we go to lighting. And what a lighting, I must say! Those people in the Café (or whatever it is) are of course under very different light conditions than the sleeping guy outside. (Notice the neon lamp.) Still you managed to keep a uniformly distributed lighting along the whole range of depth. Another unbelievable thing!
Composition: It couldn't have been better! All criteria are fulfilled here! The protagonist is a protagonist and *thus* he *needs* a scene! Here we are the scene made up by the interior of that building. And there is both enough similarity and enough difference of the scene and the protagonist, in order to allow him to be the protagonist at all!
Timing: Even of the man was sleeping and carrying that expression for a longer time on his face the timing was great! If he just closed his eyes for a moment then the timing of course was even better than great. But again it was first the combined moment of the two guys, the protagonist in "sleep" and the guy in thoughts in the background that made the timing so extremely superb!
The only thing I don't know is what "category" such an image belongs to. I assume simply "Great Photography".
Cheers and keep it up!
Nick
