Beautiful portrait Dave...can count the feathers! Makes you wonder why they like the cold so much! They could come down here and "chill-out"!--Bill Voizin P.S. Thanks for all the support and encouragement on my images. I know I don't offer my critiques as often as I should...working at it!

You caught that little chikadee very well in the middle of the warm brown tones, Dave! I think also that the timing was just about perfect here. Not too much "posing" and also enough clear view of the bird. It looks quite natural in all its details and contrast to the background, and the focus isolated it very nicely from the rest.
I am especially stunned to see that the little bit of redish haze added such a warm overall impression too.
Cheers,
Nick

I think you have more winter birds than I do and an excellent job of filming all of them. Some one did tell me this week they saw a flock of robins, so maybe spring is not too far away. Del.

Nice capture of a great little fellow, they seem to be so tame, and this one looks like he is enjoying the sun. I hope people keep feeding them through the winter.

He looks cold! We have lot's of chickadees around the house. I find they have great hearing...so many times they have started to fly as they hear the shutter on my canon...I think the can hear the mirror moving! Leaves me with a very blurry image!
Nice capture Dave.
