Now you mention one of the reasons besides limited cashflow:) Traveling....I travel all around Africa mostly by myself, but also made this long trip from Holland up to Cape Town by car! Yes, passed all through Egypt as well, (please be careful there) But its true, you cant bring big camera's with bagpacks, I was hoping this SP550 Olympus was much better, 18x zoom etc. but not really, I am looking forward seeing your Egyptian pics, don't miss the white desert if possible!! Jen it isnt for my purpose,

Don't you dare stop posting - your photos are wonderful! And you don't need a BIG camera - it's just that 4MP has it's limitations. When I want to travel light, I take my little Casio pocket jobbie with me. It's a tiny box, 8MP, but I still get great shots with it. But it's much harder work than my D70 (which incidently is only 6MP - don't be taken in by all the marketing hype...) In fact, on my next trip, which is probably Cairo in early March, I'm most likely going to resurrect my old Minolta, simply because it represents the best compromise between size, flexibility and quality. But it's definitely not a BIG camera.

Thanks again AJ, I almost don't dare to put more pics on:) I wish I could make this investment, bought another one recently, the 7MP Olympus, but I know it still isnt a big camera, I'll try to just put the best ones on, not to disturb the real photographers eye:) And yes, I really do appreciate your comment, master!:) Sleep well, xxJen

Nature is cruel (and so are my critiques!)
But Doyle has a point - seals or dogs?
As a composition, this image is wonderful: striking and hard hitting. But there's something about the quality of the shot that I notice again. There is a total loss of detail in the dogs' heads. I checked out the camera spec and guess this may have lots to do with it: it's a 4MP, right? Time for some investment, I'd say - your photographer's eye would certainly justify it.
Hope this is helpful (and to anyone else reading this, well, she DID ask! :)

Excellent capture of nature in action! While some may feel sorry for the sea lions, the alternative is for the dogs to die . . . such is the circle of life.
