Danny, thankx for the comments. I've shot this little girl once before. She's a blast to play with. Na, there was no spotlight. This is something that I stumbled on while trying to create some style to my photographs. The subject was lite with one medium softbox camera right, and high, and one umbrella camera left for fill.
I've been using PS to add about 65% opacity grad to a dupliate layer of the photo in the corners. If I want it darker or lighter, I just adjust the opacity. When done, the darkens those areas usually bring the subject matter come out a bit.
If you go to my portfolio, you'll see where I've started this process. It may not apply all the time. I usually just do it, and if it looks OK, I leave it in.
What a pretty photo. I love the lighting. Was it a spot light on the little girl's face? It sure draws your attention right to what you want to see, the little girl's face. Nice job!
