Thanks for your comment Debjit! The D300 is a great camera, but still just a camera! The noise at low ISO 100-400 looks about the same as the D200. The difference is obvious at higher ISO and looks to be about 2 stops. What it means to me, in practise, at all ISO, is that there is more dynamic range and recovery of detail from the shadows when working with RAW files.

very nice. i like the entire content of the frame. so how is d300 performing ? do u see any difference in noise at lower ISO ?
