I am using the 28-135mm. Nice range and pretty good quality for a zoom.
I though about cropping it tighter, but it seemed to not have enough depth, plus I wanted the security camera to be part of the shot to show the old with the new. Cropping too close to the camera didn't look right either.
I love shooting old buildings with lots of old bricks for it work real well with B&W and HC. Thanks for stopping by and adding your comments.

Old Town Pasadena is mainly early 20th century. Mainly 1900 to 1915. The whole area has been restored but kept faithful to the original architecture. A trendy night spot with some nice shops. This was my first shooting with my EOS 40D. It makes a big difference over my old P&S. Thanks for you kind comment.

Robert,
Wonderful Specular Highlights, Shadows and Composition my friend... :)
Seems like some really good glass, but I swear by the 17-85mm,IS,USM I need a kick in the butt for selling mine... :(
Well done indeed,
Martin
PS. However I would crop it a bit on the left, because the darkness and things in the background distracts my eye from the "Main" subject...

Hi Robert,
Great shot! I really like 19th century industrial architecture. I live in a convered industrial mill myself. This image has a great retro feel to it; great to frame and display on a wall as a decorative piece.
