About	This is one of the few times in both my safaris that I was a little nervous with our proximity to the animals. It always seemed to be with lions; maybe because they are so lazy during the day it is easier to get closer. I was looking at this shot trying to remember how close we were when I realised this was shot with the 300mm and not the 500 mm (and I didn't crop during editing), I guess it was a case of too close for comfort for both me and the lion.

Yeah, if you can hear the lion snoring once the truck engine stops, you're probably a little close. But whatever it takes to get the shot, right?

That IS close, Ed, considering the focal length! Looks like he's eyeing you too, wondering just how close you're going to try for! It's a great shot of him though!
