Hey Richard, wish I could take credit with a hard to get shot but he was just sitting on a sign right by the road and poof. Right out the window at 3 yds. As far as Tamron, I have no reference to judge by. This is my first good camera and lense. I like it very much but.....I am satisfied so take it for what it is worth. No drawbacks as far as I can tell. Thanks for all the kind words and keep shooting. Gary
