I am assuming, by original, you mean the original scan. If it original scan itself is dark, its a matter of adjusting the levels.
But if you mean it looks different when opened in Photoshop, as compared to when opened by I.E. It could be that your Photoshop is callibrated differently. So, it looks different when opened in Photoshop, as compared to when opened by I.E. Before you upload the image to usefilm, you could try opening it in a browser and check if it has the desired look.
Yep, for some reason when I uploaded my image to usefilm.com it appeared darker then the original (can't figure that out). The print is actually much nicer. This was scanned on a very inexpensive flatbed scanner. Today I bought a film scanner which should arrive next week - I'll repost this image after I get a good film scan aswell as a few others. Also, the colors were actually much nicer then what you see - had I used a pro film, I would have been very pleased with this image. Now that I'm getting a film scanner, it's going to be Fuji Velvia from here on out! Yeaahhhh!!!! Can't wait!!
