About the flags were for a soldier who had a few months to serve. Each flag= one month. this was a summer photo. He is back. The happy ending has a tragic twist. Hes combating cancer found in his exit medical from tha army. Tours to Afghanistan and Iraq survived and his own body turns against him

Ain't it just like that? My great-great-grandfather survived the American Civil War for 4 years... only to come home and get smacked dead by a train.
