Txules,
It is just on this point that determines all my exposures. I have never used a meter to determine exposure. I look at the deepest shadows that I want detail, however faint and expose for that. The meter won't give me that. Understanding I am always shooting b/w. Color, especially old chrome films are too close in latitude to do this. When I print, I look to break through the highlight to bring it just off paper white. That allows me a deep enough burn in platinum to get really deep blacks that go a full range and culminate with a pure (almost) paper white. Best to you.....Gary

thanks Gary, I appreciate a lot your comment because I consider you have a unique work in this forum that I love very much; I took this picture exposing for the highlights and trying to recover later in PS the shadows, perhaps a bit dark in any case; shooting in RAW mode helps IMO; I do not print my work but probably I should do it; by the way, your native americans in your platinum prints are really amazing happy season to you and yours txules

The best I have seen in the comment pages!! 7+++
Window light is so fabulous and so often overlooked. Your exposure for the deep shadows is perfect.
Bravo Txules, on this wonderful image. I wonder how you output this image, do you print your work?
Best for the holidays,

-jordi

One of your best images, in my opinion. You've controlled the light from the window so well nothing has blown out or ended up in darkness. Even the detail in the floor can be clearly seen. The toning enhances the history perfectly. At first I thought you may have had some dust on your sensor that the light has picked up, but obviously not, whatever it adds to the magic. Buen trabajo! Regards, Gary

Enchanting old place full of melancholy - the natural light makes it very moody. Great work, dear Txules.
