Eb - A calm but spectacular capture. You have done nicely with the exposure.

Thanks, Hugo! I will repost later at 1200 pix. Halos should be at a minimum at the higher res. and with a lighter hand on the sharpening. Eb

Hi Eb,
Yep, I'd say that's just about spot on; any fiercer post processing and you'd probably get all sorts of defects in image quailty I like how the lighter tone of the haze also accents the elevation above the water, if you know what I mean. Be careful with the halo around the mountains, though.
Cheers,
Hugo

Thanks for your constructive comment, Hugo. On second look, I think I know what you mean about the muddiness with the haze. What I have done is to considerably increase the light end of the curve and drop the darks a bit. Also the mid-tone split has been lowered. To add a little more punch, I increased the local detail, equivalent to USM with high radius/low %. Let me know if this gets at what you are seeing. Unfortunately the attachment is limited to 750 pix. Eb

Hi Eb,
I like the tranquility in this scene, and believe both processing as well as image format make this image stronger than version 1; also, the slightly increased lighting on the shoreline is an improvement.
Despite the slight haze, obscuring the view, I think playing with the levels / curves on the highlights / midtones a bit more could create a more crisp feel, which might benefit the atmosphere. It looks a tad mucky as is, if you know what I mean.
Cheers,
Hugo
