Another shot taken in Vancouver, B.C.... well, actually in Steveston, B.C... just south of Vancouver\'s international airport. I was there late in the day and had attempted several sunset shots, but with very little success producing something that intrigued me. I was just giving in to my urge for food and drink, when on my way to the restaurant I clicked off a couple of shots of the place I was going and the adjoining harbor area. When I worked with the shots, this one caught my eye.
The sun was low in the sky to the left of this image. Clouds were high and the combination gave some beautiful color to the sky and a warm rich tone to the image. I was taken with the purples to orange to red of the sky and it accented the colors of the shot. My mother used to tell me, \"Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailor\'s delight!\" Guess she was right... the next day was gorgeous!
It was a rather cool late afternoon during the week, hence no one else walking the dock. Following this shot, I went immediately to the restaurant you see pictured. Yes, it really is called the Sockeye City Diner. Inside was waiting a warm fire, a friendly staff, a great bottle of wine, some fantastic raw oysters and seafood chowder... and one of the best pieces of salmon I\'ve had in my life! Excellent... mmmmmm.
Hope you enjoy the image as much as I did the meal. Bon apetite! I\'d like your critique. GF
Being a fellow Canadian, (well from Saskatchewan), I can practically feel that photo.. brings back all the memories from when I was there (in Canada).. Very nice work..
