Thank you very very much for the elaborate reply, Noemi! And really, there is nothing to be sorry about, since it is exactly such comments that reveal to me some things of importance.
I find your idea very inviting and reasonable. It was definitely not that I wanted to avoid standing too low, but simply that I diedn't even think of that because I didn't have much clue about that. As already said these images are from some years ago, when I was only interested for color and so a certain amount of naivity is present in the whole series.
Many many thanks again and all the best,
Nick

Nick, you are welcomed. It’s only that the middle one, where most of your focus appears to be seems to lean forward…making it less inviting, sorry…
Yet it’s got lovely colors and details with fresh water drops and the selective focus makes it interesting. But I realize that the twisting and curving IS natures “prerogative” so my praise to you for your floral images. I also know it cannot be easy having to get painfully low at times, instead of directing such as one would in a studio, this here would then cause disturbance and defeat the whole purpose!
Regards.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and even more for the suggestion, Dave! I cropped all the parts out of focus, and I can imagine now that the attachment could be a good one, if only a bit bigger, which suggests that I should stand closer to the flower.
Interesting to see that Gustavo finds exactly the opposite and suggests to leave it as it is now. It seems that there are two diametrically opposed looks for such images, one of which gives more importance to focus. So the question is to me, how much of it might still be out of focus and retain the integrity of the image? I assume that no definite answers can be made here and that it really depends on the case, light, etc.
Many many thanks again,
Nick

Thank you very much for the nice and detailed comment and above all for the suggestion, Noemi.
Could you perhaps elaborate a bit more on that?
All the best,
Nick

The center flower is nicely focused, Nick, so you could probably crop some off the sides. Dave.
