I thought that might be your reason, Tim! I think my eye would stay in the image anyways because of the strong attraction of the tree in the sweet spot! Eb

Ahh, yes I remember now why I left the branches. I left them on the edge because they hold my eye inside the Image, like a frame that helps led my eye to the mountain past the competing foreground. With out them, my attention strayed a little to the right. They also balance out the strength of the left hand bush in the foreground making it just a bit easier to get to the mountain visually.

Hi Eb, It was in my thoughts as i was shooting this shot but the sun just popped out for a few seconds....so between composing the shot and working the settings i didn't have much time to adjust the framing of this shot. I tried cloning it out later but it didn't work out very well....I guess i am going to have to leave it with all its warts....Oh well it was just a moment in time. Thanks for pointing it out as it is not the best of my shots...and yet i liked the light and drama of the moment.

Interesting detail and drama with the storm coming in - yet the foreground is in sun! Tim, someone once told me to remove "straggler" branches intruding into the frame - particularily in the sky. I don't feel distracted 'though by the branch in the upper right. I still remove branches for a cleaner look - maybe not always necessary. Beautiful photo! Eb

Great capture of the looming storm clouds, contrasting with the lighting on the foreground, Tim! It all makes for a very dramatic image. Dave.

Beautiful landscape in a really particular mood with these two parts, one under light and the other, in the background, in the dark.. Well seen and nicely composed Tim. Congrats

so you think it needs more detail brought out in the back ground? I left it dark to add contrast for the foreground and less distraction. But then that is just the way i am looking at it. Always good to hear your thoughts Roger

no it doesnt need more punch it needs some adj to curves or levels on a selection in the distant mountains.. well that what I think

Hi Roger....been a while....Yeah well as you can guess i was lucky to have any light popping out of this sky at all. Maybe i could crank up the contrast a bit to make it a bit more punchy.

shame there wasnt a bit more light in this.. as the mood seems light and yet the tone is dark..
