And you are right. These flowers look fantastic in the fields. Not so great especially under tungsten lighting. It pleases me very much that you like the way I "pepped up" the colours, and really like your term: "tiger's skin". :)

I can understand your frustration with the natural colours of the rhodies....they look so great in the fields, but the colours change in the camera. The pink is too bland, the red too red and the purple not purple! So I like what you did here, keeping the details and saturating the colours!I like the details "tiger's skin" on the petals and the "curious" stamen!To me it looks good!

At least this version of "Purple Passion" is larger than the same one I posted last year when I first held a digital camera in my hands! (Other than the Mavica I own and no longer use. An unwanted "gift".) Maybe I should pull it out and do some Toy Camera projects??? Hehehehe!!!!!!
This is the NON panoramic image that I referred to in your thread. But I HAVE posted panoramas that are NOT 2:1 ratio and they did not shrink or otherwise alter from that which I posted... go figure... lol...
You ought to see Purple Passion HUGE though. Looks SOOO much better. (I decided to actually downsize it a fraction in case the "gremlins" got to it... hehehe...) It is close to the size I had intended for UF, anyhow... so what the heck, 'eh?
