thanks a lot Tom, simple...at the top she shining a lot and she has lot of white tones, so she try to cover herself using her bottom side that has similar colors with the area there...believe me, I was very lucky to see her...even she is enouph big! She was on her net...even after fall down (from my flash...hehehe...she must be pretty mad with me...) she try to have her bottom area at the top to cover herself with the same colors with the brown grass...

Lovely symmetry and great detail - Great macro John. By the way - these spiders are fairly common in South Africaand are known as Garden Orb Web Spiders, their venom is harmless to humans though! You can handle them without fear! Regards.

Excellent macro of this rare spider here ...but sheesh it would scare me for sure ...You must be using your very good macro lens..the detail is perfect and I do like the crop - it makes her more spooky somehow --Yikes poisonous too !!
