About While being running from home to job and backwards, many times the world seemed to be like some kind of electric apparatus that goes astray in a short circuit - muck like toys that suddenly start to go like rockets before they fall apart. In the beginning I had the impression that this was only some temporary impression - a temporary short circuit that would soon get fixed. It turned out that it was a temporal short circuit in the sence of bringing defects into time itself. They must have brought a short in time in order to make it go faster - or else I don't get anything.

The railway clock that seems to be vanishing together with time under the high voltage, and a bit of luxagraphic work of the lights as the connectors gave me an acceptable representation of this.

I'd be very grateful for any comments.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Andre!

Yes, I guess that the universality of the view of a clock, as a symbol for time, can quite cause something in the viewer. As we are all affected by and dependent on time, it makes us perhaps stay for some seconds and review its meaning for us.

I think a big part of it is that time doesn't stop for anybody. So we somehow know that we all pay the tribute to it, if we want it or not. So a clock in an image is also some kind of sign of the own "finiteness"?

All the best,

Nick

Of course I give you the hard job! What did you think - you say something so interesting and get away with it? ;-)

Yes, Avi, it was a triple exposure. I use it often when I want to put some scene together out of partial scenes.

Thanks a lot for the very good explanation - I know now what you mean! And again yes, my main consideration was how to visualize some thought rather than the integrity of the abstract.

All the best,

Nick

Great work on this one Nick!
As we discussed before, the inclusion of clocks in an image always seems to strike some kind of chord with the viewer. We see this everyday appliance as something very universal and therefore we can all relate to them in an image.

Ok, now you have given me the difficult job .. of elucidating .. :)

Ok, let me try my best.

I assume that you have used multiple exposures here (correct me if I am wrong) - in which there is a clear presence of one object (i.e. the clock) and also the fuzzy presence of the other parts (like the light streaks). This, in my mind, kind of draws the viewers eyes from one side to another, not allowing to concentrate. That is why I said, as an abstract it gets about a 7 in my book.

But as a composition, what you wanted to tell, I think you got that spot on !

Thank you very much, Avi, for the very encouraging comment! So, I did an 8.5/10 in average which by far surpasses my own expectations (and also opinions) about it! :-D

I find very interesting the fact that it goes so differently as an abstract and as a composition, and I must admit that I don't understand that perfectly. So, perhaps could you elaborate on that, Avi?

Best wishes,

Nick

As an abstract, I would rate this probably about 7/10.. but as a composition, it gets a 10/10 !!!..

BRILLIANT, Nick !!
