About This is another of the photos of Robert from yesterday. This was from the third sitting and even though i lowered the curtain more to try and control the harsher light I think the right side of his face is a little over exposed for my purpose.

Again all that has been done to this photo was a slight crop and levels.

Larry,

This was a little project i set for myself to learn about lighting my subject, albeit with my kitchen window but... lol. I posted a photo yesterday where the light is better I think, however I agree that this is still good. You can still see all his features. Thank you fro your kind comments.

Megan.

Dunno about over exposure...if you were going for harsh I think you achieved it without going over the edge...well done Megan

I saw the first one of these that you posted and think its pretty good :)
I could be completely wrong by suggesting this, but could you have balanced this shot out a bit more if you'd had a reflector to the left then bumped down the exposure a tad? I wonder...

Dani,

I don't mind that you had a play with my photo. My goal with taking these photos was to get the lighting right when i took the photos, I left them un-edited in the hopes i could get some advice on lighting the photo. The one i posted yesterday had much better light than this ( i made Robert pose for three sittings) this one was from the last sitting and the light outside was much harsher and I think I had the chair in a different spot too. Thank you for your comment.

Megan.

Hi Megan,
I played with your picture a tiny bit, though I'm not all that good at PS yet...
I agree when you said the right side of his face was a bit overexposed, but I also thought that his hand was slightly too bright in sections so I tried to fix it a little bit.
Like I said, I only adjusted it a tiny tiny bit, hope you dont mind.
-D :)

I can offer no better advice to that young lad than to study the work of one Mr Ronnie James Dio (Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio), the originator, the creator, the prime exponent of the devil sign. The first, and still the best.

Patrick,

I'm sure Robert would be delighted to hear that you think he looks like dave grohl. lol. He does this with his hand all the time, in fact hes been trying to teach the son of one of my girlfriends to do it. Thank you for taking the time to look at my picture.

Megan.

Yes... the sign of the beast! Rock, and indeed, roll. I think he looks a bit like Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters... he throws a good devil sign too.
