personally i like the mostly monochrome but just a hint of colour execution here. the eye has nowhere to go and thus must look everywhere. then there's this ever so slight hint of colour that it can focus on.

I knew that, too. Even if I had taken this shot, I would probably take the same decision as you. Just beacuse I saw this from a complete neutral POV, it leaped out at me !! :)

I never even considered doing the conversion, Avi, since it's already so close to being B&W on its own.

I like this quite a bit Paul !!!.. the careful built up of each pattern, which is THEN broken by the next, sometimes overlapping one, creates a visual impact which is unique !! The only change that I would have made to this is to make it completely in B&W. The composition, in my mind, demands it !!
