About I was wondering: how would someone look if he suddenly saw a very bright light......

Hi James and Terrence,
Thanks for your comment.
This picture is a part of four figures of a cold cast statue in the shape of bookstands (made by DC Comics). If you want more info on the statue send me an email at curzon@dds.nl .
The camera was on ASA 400 on purpose. I wanted to try out the flash (with/without a difuser) and the composition with my D1X and the MACRO-lens before I started shooting with my Nikon F4S (with B&W film 400 ASA). This picture is not realy a mistake, but I must admit that the effect was achieved by accident.
So, I was pleasantly surprised by this outcome. Terrence, you had the same thoughts as I did. It fits right into a comicbook: on the page just before the blast of an atomic bomb will change the person into a superhero. (Yes!! I'm 35 years old and still a big comic fan)

I can see exactly what your idea was here, looks like you've captured the moment the superhero is born (standing in the path of an atomic breeze?) Tho is it possible you accidentally had the camera set at 400 instead of 125 and this was just a cool mistake?

This is very interesting. I'd like more info on the image. Where did the figure come from and how was the iumage manipulated.
