It must have been a wonderful holiday. It is not often that parents get to go on holidays with their grown children. It must be even more special when a shared hobby is ejoyed. This is a great landscape. The mounds look almost unearthly. Their shape makes my eyes move from one side to the other while moving towards the background where the viewer is treated to the beauty of the misty hills. Wonderful image. MAry

Wow, this is a stunning image, Rob. It does feel cold, with the fog in the distance. I love the many sharde of brown -- some of the browns appear so soft and velvety, it's hard to believe that it's really lava. Beautiful soft colors.

So happy that you posted this so excellent shot - now UF members/visitors can see what Haleakala Crater actually looks like - as compared to the shots I took. This one is outstanding - light, colors, details - etc. just like being there WITHOUT the high winds and temperature in the 50's. Burr. It does look other worldly!
