Thanks Andre! The motion effects involve panning the camera at slow shutter speed. If the kayak's trajectory is not in a straight line at the moment of release, i.e. moves up and down, then nothing will be sharp. This technique requires a bit of luck and lens VR for steadiness! I'll be posting some more. Eb

What a nice action shot EB! You really got the motion blur just right on this one to give it a vibrant effect. The thing that works really well is the way his face is nice and sharp, yet at the same time the oar, arm and spray have a wonderful blur! Great job! Make sure you keep note of those settings :)
