Well, I am on the late schedule, Captain...so what's your excuse again? LOL. I usually don't get to bed until between 1AM and 3AM. Oh, and you're welcome!:)))

Thanks, Gary. I'd say night is the best for this place. I've taken and seen many daylight shots here and all I can say is "boring".
Best, Dave

This could easily have been a less inspiring shot but under the stars has given it some neat colours. They remind me strongly of the neolithic standing stones found in the UK and north west France. Some examples in my portfolio. In years to come anthropologists might misinterpret these and mistakenly write books about how ancient American's worshipped the car as a deity....hang on, come to think of it.... Regards, Gary

Fantastic, Dave! I'm in agreement with Rina that this is the best, with IV second. Very strong series. 7/7

Thank you again, Barbara. Yes, I've been here many times, on I-40 on the west side of Amarillo. I had heard about it long ago and finally (years ago) happened to look over and see it while making one of my regular trips through Amarillo.

Thank you, Michele. Yes, you are correct. I've shot this in the daylight and never pleased with the results. Mostly because of all the trash strewn about.
While the artist doesn't mind the graffiti on the cars, I would think the hundreds of empty spray cans thrown into the farmer's field would be a sore point. And they even provide a dumpster but do you think anybody could use it?
So I spent a bit of time in the dark trying to clean the place up before shooting... I missed some cans, though.

Wow ! Excellent shots Dave... very interesting 'about' as well...I had never heard anything about this kind of place but it looks awesome- and probably even better at night with your lights and the moon-light than in sun-light..(?) Just guessing ..... Thank for sharing ! Michele~

92 seconds? Pffft... more like 15. Those streaks are miles long. Wait... that doesn't make sense. Nevermind.
Have looked at the others, and this seems to be the strongest of the series. The composition and light here just feels right. Although version IV is coming a very tight second. I think it's the moon in that one.

Dave, you're alive!!!!
Now this is freaky!! But in saying that, I know you know I mean 'freaky genius' freaky, and not 'freaky running around in the dark with a torch in a car graveyard' freaky....
Excellent about and an even better result. This is going to my faves, cheers, Beks
