Great detail and colour, lovely capture.
There was a butterfly that I was photographing tonight, I got a bunch of similiar shot, but it wouldn't open his wings, even had him hop up onto my finger for a sec. but then he flew off as I got my camera near he he.

Vistek bought the old Ginn photographic at Bank and Gladstone (I think its Gladstone). They had two in stock. You can go and see it. Also they had a great price on the 16-35 2.8. I think it was $1199. I doubt Canon will address or admit there is a problem. I know what you mean about the Swallowtail, I followed a dragonfly around one day and all he would land on is rocks.

I agree it would have been much better if it landed on a plant but it seemed to prefer the road that day. Every time it took to the air it landed in on the road. I gave up after a considerable period of time waiting for it to land in the vegetation. Here is another view showing off it's colours and tails better but not the head and legs.
Where is Vistek in Ottawa? I'm surprised to hear they have it in stock. I checked their web site yesterday and it said they were not in stock. Still not sure about the camera. Wish Canon would make an annoucement regarding the AF. Also, I hate to have to pay the difference between what you can buy it for in the US vs Canada. I'm not convinced that the AF problem is as bad as some are reporting. I have seen some truly remarkable BIF shots with the camera.

Beautiful butterfly, great colours and very sharp, focus is bang on the eye. Too bad he wasn't sitting on a nice flower with the sky as a background. I haven't seen one of these yet. Lighting is good, looks like it was a bright day, the morning or evening sun would sure give these guys a great colour tone, looks like you are getting the feel of the 300 2.8. Vistek in Ottawa had a couple of MKIII is stock (cheaper price than Henry's too.) I had a look at it on display, sure looks like a nice camera, great viewfinder, so big and fast autofocus. There are still reports of AF problems and I'm not sure if Canon can fix them. The whole point of this camera is accurate AF. It has great high ISO performance too, at 1600 it is reportedly quite usuable. Nice to see some of your shots Joe.
