I ran through your slideshow on Flickr.
Excellent job of capturing the atmosphere! Great consistancy with the fleshtones and lighting. I understand what you mean about bouncing the flash off of all kinds of different things. The technique is working very well for you :)

Hey Andre, I never use direct flash, between each shot I'm furiously swiveling my flash head to bounce off ceiling, wall, floor, my shirt, stage prop. You get a nice even mellow light. Great energy in this shot Dirk!
If you don't mind me asking, how did you get such nice detail in the faces in the crowd with the obviously low light conditions? You have virtually no motion blur and no harshness associated with a flash. Nice rich, dark detail!
