Hi Larry! Do kiters get in my way? Well, there are some pretty busy days on the water in Tarifa, and often there are lots of kiters who don't realise the size of their own danger zone. I have been hit several times by a kiter's strings (kevlar at high tension... doesn't bear thinking about!) and have friends who have been badly cut. A kite in the water is also a problem because you don't always spot the strings. But in general we get along, especially as kite technology is advancing, making kites easier to handle and resulting in kiters getting into difficulties less and less often.

I have tried photographing kiters on a number of occasions, and will no doubt be trying again, so I fully appreciate the problems!

Pete has a point but it's a tough one with kiters - getting the action shot sharp with the sun on the guy's face looking at you is adding quite a few dimensions. What's a little strange here is that the board is travelling to the right, but the kiter is looking to the left and the kite itself is clearly also a little towards the left.

Great sharpness in the splash and nice strong colours - I'm enjoying this series (despite my healthy windsurfer's dislike of kiters!)

Shame his face is obscurred, his expression may have added to the image. Still a good shot though!
