Betsy, Good luck on your photo.Let me know when you do it. Yes, any smoke, fog, mist, seem to appeal to all of us. Its a little touch of the surreal in the real world.

This has me fascinated. It is uncluttered, and kind of sucks you into the beauty of its simplicity. What is it about smoke, fog, clouds, swirling water that is so soothing, maybe the design elements, curves, tones... You have me thinking and I'm going to give something like this a try. I assume you set up some kind of dark background. I usually use dark cardboard if I'm setting up a similar shot so I hope I don't get too involved and set fire to it. Thanks for the inspiration.
