About 3 weeks ago I dug up a cocoon while transplanting trilliums, and was worried that I may have damaged it. I put it in a small flowerpot filled with soil, nestled in dry leaves on top, and stuck a branch in beside it, and kept it on my desk. Last night I heard rustling noises, and out came a luna moth. It ran up the branch and unfolded its wings. Unfortunately I had chosen a "messy" branch, and the lighting wasn't the greatest, but I had great entertainment watching the moth emerge and did manage to get some shots of it.
