About There is a very OLD, twisted and large oak tree a few blocks from my house that I've been wanting to photograph since I've lived here.
Driving back from the airport, I saw it now had a carpet of wildflowers beneath its spreading branches. It was time.

The air was thick with smells of first this flower and then that.
The grass was tall and unmolested, but for my footfalls, with each plant proudly hoisting its progeny high,
hoping to catch a gust of wind and fertile womb for its seed.
Even walking with care, the flowers playfully tagged me - yellow spots of pollen on my shoes and black pants.

The silence is occasionally jarred by the sound of my camera converting fleeting seconds to forever.
The Oak had seen this before and stretched out its roots beneath me and flowers and grass.
For a moment, we are all one.

Remember in "The Graduate" when the guy comes up to Benjamin and says, "I have just one word for you Ben........Plastics"? (or is it "Plastic"?) OK, well, "I have just 3 words for you Paul......are you ready?............. BLACK AND WHITE"....... ah, life is just like a movie - the moodiness of the shot - which would be MUCH stronger in B / W - over takes the use of color IMHO.........

Actually, the original shot is properly exposed, Wayne. I used a Kubota action (Return of the King) which diffused and blew out the hightlights.

I'm attaching my raw shot for you

Shirley, your wish is my Photoshop composite (or something like that). I'm reposting another version of this for you, honey.

Not bad Paul. I think I'm going to recite one of your critiques to me though. Hope you don't mind.
These shots are very tricky and easy to overexpose. Only advice I have on this one is to try and underexpose just a bit then fix in post processing. If you read the reply on my image I think we were both battling the same light! :)
Still a great image my friend, I hope to visit with you soon.
