Great shot. I want to dive in. Love the mist - perfect to create the mood but not too much to obscure the wonderful details. And thanks for your kind comments.

Indeed very interesting! And a good thing that they use that energy for power plants. One very good way to avoid sending some additional millions of tons of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Cheers!

Yes it certainly is, geothermal activity from around the Rotorua and Taupo districts of New Zealand, very interesting. They even have geothermal power plants there also.

You mean... it's a thermal spring and the water remains so hot also *after* it comes out of the earth? Wow! Then it must be really burning before it comes out! I can hardly imagine that since all springs here around are only freezing cold!

Cheers!

Hi Sudhir,

Sorry for such a late reply, unfortunately that was the max aperture of that camera. It was a hard capture due to the steam from the hot water.

Sorry for such a late reply to this. The particles in the air is actually steam, the water is hot, in parts too hot to sit in. I agree about composition, would have been easier if I had a tripod with me :-)

If it only didn't have that kind of haze because of the water particles in the air, Daniel! It hides the details of the plants on the other side, and also reduces their powerfull green.

As about composition, I think that leaving out the part of the earth out of focus at the bottom right and getting a bit more of that nice light between the trees would make it stronger.

All the best,

Nick

Forgive me Daniel, I didn't realise you were actually in NZ. St Bathans is definitely worth a visit if you are down that way, but you've also got lots to see on the North Island! This is lovely, must be pretty spectacular to see in RL too!
