Precioso pájaro, qué plumaje encantador!!! Texturas suaves en el ave, rústicas en la corteza del árbol! Felicitaciones!

Art,
Dave is correct. It is a Yellow-shafted Flicker. Out west, they have the Red-shafted Flicker. Both are commonly refered to as Northern Flickers, a member of the woodpecker family.

Nice capture Art, I see them around here often but as you say, they won't let you get too near them. All the best, Joe

Very nice capture of him, especially with that behaviour, Art! I'm pretty sure it's a yellow-shafted Northern Flicker. Dave.
