Maybe the macabre feeling comes with the shadowy dark that is draped through the image, courtesy of time and the strong contrast Gary... :)))
No matter the religious beliefs, cemeteries are a wonderful historical landscape, by the stories told of the lives and loves of the souls held within... :)))
To read the heartache of whole families decimated by plagues, mothers lost in childbirth, children, now forever a child, from whooping cough or other childhood diseases, those lost through the horror of wars, accidents or, just the passing years... Without those that walked ahead of us, our world would indeed be very different today... and, hopefully our journeys of today make a different tomorrow for future generations...
Sadly, there are still too many today who are living that history...
Excellent composition Txules...:)))
Onie... Sorry dear Txules, love cemeteries also, and just put the thoughts down...
Thanks Gary, taken in a cemetery on the way of St James (love these places); agree with you a bit macabre, By the way, I've only got the last 100 km to reach Santiago...txules
The muted colours are superb and contrast well with the dark black crosses. Has a macabre feel to this one, don't know why, it just does. Regards, Gary
