A doll, actually, poorly treated and left to die. Kinda sad, really. Dolls, stuffed bears and such things are strong, very positive, symbols of childhood. What, then, does this poor thing, so badly abused, symbolize?
Taken in a back alley on the poor side of town, behind a run-down, neglected house.
Children often leave dolls in this sort of state, then pick them up, dust them down and resume affection. It's certainly a powerful image. Unlike Marco I'm not sure that "good taste" per se should play any part in art, so for me the label kind of gives it away. It would be even more "in your face" if you had chopped it off.
