I tend to go along with Jim Vanson on this. The exposure isn't totally hopeless IMO, but you could have waited for a time of day when the light was less harsh.
What I see as a more important problem is the composition. Firstly, the house is bang in the vertical middle of the picture. The door is in the horizontal middle. The road doesn't add anything. The sky would have been OK, if you had used a polarising filter to make it a deeper blue. The whole image is strongly tilted.
I took the liberty of playing with the image and here's what I did:
1) I rotated the image to get the roof and the bottom of the house more level.
2) I cropped it, to get rid of the road and move the door off-centre.
3) Under Selective color->Whites, I added yellow and black to return some colour to the washed-out areas.
4) I selected the sky and changed the hue to a darker blue.
I consider the points 1) and 2) the main ones. I hope you like it; if not, never mind :-)

I'm sorry to say that I will swim against the flow here...please forgive me but if I am to be honest then I must disagree with the other comments. I feel this shot is poor. It could be improved in the darkroom but its composition and lighting fails. Let me give you my reasons. First off are the very washed out colors. The only thing properly exposed is the background through the second door. This problem with exposure should have been corrected in the darkroom. Secondly the horizon & building are out of square. Again the printer fails to correct a minor problem that together with everything else ruins the photo. And last is the composition. I realize composition is a very personal thing but this shot just doesn?t work for me. The blank sky above and the washed out road below add nothing to the shot. Perhaps cropping the photo into a square when it is reprinted would work. I taught B&W darkroom for a couple of years. I would sometimes have students bring me a photo like this to critique. I would ask them what was important about it?what it meant to them. If they couldn?t tell me I?d suggest they put the shot away and start on a new shot. That?s what I would suggest here.

Good strong lighting and contrast of light and darkness. Well perchaps if you croped it tighter at the top and the bottom the result could be better. The sky and road looks 'empty' and also very bright.

Olá ME. O mood da fotografia está muito bom, particularmente os lusófonos, sentimo-lo bem. Se me é permitido um pequeno reparo, direi que tenho pena que a foto esteja sobre-exposta, não me quero armar em especialista, tão somente ajudar-te, afinal é (ou deveria ser) o motivo principal de estarmos aqui todos reunidos. Penso que foste traída pela medição de luz feita no interior da casa, que está na penumbra. Eu também iria pela sugestão que já foi dada, fazendo um crop às áreas mais queimadas, concretamente o céu e o chão de primeiro plano. Um abraço.

A fotografia é o caminho que encontramos
para eternizar um momento... um achado.
Assim como esse seu ... que merece sim elogios.
Local que mostra muito bem o estilo de vida das pessoas
que utilizam esse local de comércio. Isso é fotografia.
Nessas condições de luminosidade grande, sempre o céu fica bem claro, a não ser que utilizemos um filtro. Mas tem uma saída boa
aqui neste caso... eu cortaria o céu fora... no nível das telhas.
Não sei se vc gosta de receber sugestões , mas eu aprendi o pouco
que sei assim.
