Hi Joe,
This is such funny looking flower..One thick maroon coloured stem with this pom pom of red on the top. It blooms once a year in the middle of my back field.

Stunning Syl. really a beauty. I`ve seen these and there is also another kind that looks like a trumpet. and ye very strange that they come out after some good rains. "Spookie" Really a weird flower.Well captured.:) :)
