Thanks John for the detailed feedback. It is a good general purpose zoom telephoto lens, The IS works very well, it could be sharper at 300mm but you get what you pay for. If you want optimum sharpness I believe you have to get a prime L telephoto, such as the Canon 300MM F4.0 L IS.
