From the title the photo would appear to be more about ascension than anything else. From my point of view, the placement of the climber dead center makes him appear somewhat static in spite of his climbing posture. The other thing is that all of the business of the setting to the left and right of the climber is more of a distraction that does nothing to further the theme. My solution would be to alter the perspective of the photo and use some judicious cropping to make the theme the real star of the show. (see example idea below)
