A very well composed image and I think the sharpness is just great as it is.The softness in here adds some extra charm. It's a lovely flower and you captured it perfectly Well done!!!! Emgy

This is almost an abstract, Anson! Love the colour and the curling edge looks like a tantalizing invitation to flirting!Great interpretation of a floral! Gabriela

Unfortunately for me, Joe, this particular "edge" on this particular lily is not very thin (sharp), and I didn't have an insect to work with, but I think you have explained what is needed for a CC image fairly well. Thanks for taking the time in your critique. Anson

As a CC image, I'd only say that it looks like a macro effort. And macros will not have much of a focus field. What some do is shoot with long lenses that also compress the distance and blur the background. Or you could pull back and crop the result. What you are shooting for, here, I think is a thin sharp line and further blurring the rest as 'photoart'. But it would be more a workbook study than that. It is the perfect background for a small insect, an ant climbing the leaf.

Thanks for the nice comment, Derk, and I will have to try it again with a little more DOF. This blossom was the only fully open one in the pot, so will have plenty more to work with. Great landscapes with the Bronica, by the way. Anson

Ah, a subject you can spent hours photographing. Nice lighting, great composition. Maybe a half a stop more aperture for slight increase of depth of field.

I would have liked a little more sharpness, too, Annemette. The lily is fresh, so I will try a little different perspective under different light. I appreciate your suggestions, greatly, Annemette. Thanks. Anson

Beautiful soft colourtones. A dreamy and sensual photo. I might have wished for a tad more clarity on the "ridge" of the lily, but otherwise so beautiful to look at. Best wishes Annemette
