Thanks for viewing my image and for your comments. I not surprised there was a big crowd on the canal today. It was a very nice day and the ice would still be good for skating. Seems to me that I've heard of them called elephant ears.

You can also get beavertails at Canada's Wonderland. I used to live in London ON and they were at the Western Fair. I associate them with summer but everyone here in Ottawa associates them with winter! Anyway, I really like this shot. I couldn't believe the number of people lined up today for food.

Thanks Ina. At first you could only get BeaverTails at special events in Ottawa like Winterlude. According to their web site, http://www.beavertailsinc.com/index.html they now have year round outlets all across Canada. You can get them in Toronto at the Zoo, Ont. Place and CNE, and Wild Kingdom Toronto.

Great capture of the moment and explanation, I've never had them, but now I'll be dreaming of BeaverTails! Can you get them anywhere else? I love the red outfits and the girl's smile as she's handing them out, as well as the picture of the little girl having a bite.
