Amazingly wonderful. How did you ever manage to pose the pigeon? Excellent lines and texture. Works quite well in B&W.

This is just soooo fine, Andrew. Perfect eye, and yes, perfect composition to me, for a simple, yet incredible image. I love this.

Hi Andrew,
Splendid composition. Steps turning into waves. And the small pigeon alone.
A classic. And a little romantic as well.

James: I already tried the crop you suggest, but unforunately the composition then loses the rest of the sweep of the curves.

okay, this is getting really nit-picky, but i wonder if a small crop on the right side would make this even stronger, so the pattern fills the frame 100%. just a thought. otherwise, a very appealing image. love the curves and tones, and the visual interest provided by the bird.

Mister Caldwell seldom stoops to sentimentality, and perhaps does not see this picture as sentmental. He possibly included the lone pigeon merely to give a sense of scale to the magnificent sweep of curves which recedes so lusciously and with such diverting detail. However, artists are at the mercy of their interpreters, and I used this strong, sensitive image as my this year's valentine.
