Thanks Ina for your detail critique. I can see what you mean by the medical feel to it.
Best regards Joe

Very strong abstract, Joe, I thought too that it has a medical feel to it, partly due to the red color and artery-like shapes. However, I like it as an abstract. The natural image is very beautiful... I think it's great, as it has great clarity and beautiful natural colors. What I like the most is the oval diagonal framing formed by the branches. Great crop, either way - Best regards, Ina

Thanks Onie for all your comments. I'm surprised that you say you are not an abstract person. I would say that many of your images are very fine abstracts that most people would never see, for example Natural Patchwork, barking up a gum tree and your rust and wood series. Have you ever read any of Freeman Patterson's books (for example Photography of Natural Things and Photography and the Art of Seeing)or seen his images? If not, I think you would be interested. Thanks again for your interest in my images and for your feedback. Have a great day.

Excellent abstract Joe... :) Looks a little like pastel and ink on grey card... Your PS play has worked well... and would certainly make a great, large piece for hanging...
The dogwood branches plus that one curly tendril, lower center, paid off...:)
The funny thing is, personally, I'm not an abstract person BUT easily *see* them and appreciate the visual... if that makes sense...:)

Thanks for viewing Maryanne I appreciate the comments and feedback. I'm glad you like the image. I like it but I also realize it's not going to suit everyone's taste. Here's the original image. It is a crop of a larger image. I think you can see where this came from. All the best.

This is wild, Joe. It looks either like some sort of "neural pathways" or silly string. I never would have thought it was an interpretation of dogwood branches. In any case, I like it!

Thanks for your comments Kara. I hadn't thought of that interpretation. I can see what you mean. These types of images are very subjective and depend on personal tastes for sure. My wife isn't too keen on it. :) Thanks for viewing. All the best.

I like it. The colours are great and it is certainly unique. To be perfectly honest, I don't think I'd hang it on my wall as it seems almost medical (like something has gone horribly wrong with a person's veins) but it is still a great abstract. Regards, Kara
