It is indeed a hard job to get so much sharpness and detail at such a low light condition. No zigzag lines of the fireworks, no motion blurryness at the buildings far away, a very soft looking water surface and all that in a very distinct coloring. But above all a very well balanced composition in all possible aspects!

Michalis. It was 16 years ago. I dont remember datails and there was not such a thing as EXIF in those times, but I think that about 8-15 seconds. I just had to catch the whole wireworks sequence, from the beginning to the end. So I pushed the button a second before and closed when all was over. I compensated overexposure by F stop. Val

In my current reading of taking photos of fireworks, there's quite a bit to master not only with the lighting but also with the timing...this is done really well, as well as the background setup...lovely scenery and having the fire works on the side...very nicely done!

Beautiful shot, Valery. I love the subtle variations in the colors and tones in the sky and the water, and the sharpness of the city lights on the horizon. I'm not usually a fan of fireworks photos--they usually seem kind of cliche to me. But this is very special, and a favorite. Very well done photograph.
