Great low angle work, Tim! The light is spectacular - at least after you get through with envisioning it!

Hey Tim. Nice cold light here, and really like the texture in the foreground with the broken blocks of ice. The horizon/sky could be more interesting, but as is it lets the attention focus on the foreground.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Kes,
Yes, the foreground has always held great importance for me as this is the very element that supports the interest for the eye in the distance. The tough thing though, is to find something in the foreground that is supportive but not so strong that it impedes your eyes interest to explore further into the distance.

Great light on the ice, Tim. I hope some of your photo expertise rubs off on me someday, lol. I'm learning the importance of the near foreground detail. :)

Your latest photographs are taking on a real timecatcher/Dave K, etc. look - really sharp and well done. I see you have upgraded to the D80 and hope that it is treating you well.

I like your perspective and wonderful dof here, Tim! The shot is sharp from the edges of the broken ice to the silhouettes of the tree line. Great composition with the trees in just the right position to transition from ice to sky.
Dave.

I find your landscapes very "touchable". This one is particularly accessable, so easy for the eye to pick up all the detail and for me to digest the sharpness and the coldness and the prettiness of this image.
I like the way the jagged silhouetted horison separates the rough foreground from the soft sky. Just beautiful. CC
