Outstanding work! Reminiscent of the work of artist M.C. Escher, one of my favorites. You have very good imagination in your work. Keep exploring.

Hi Sharon,
my best congratulations on your lately achiement to BIP and PoD. One shot, two awards.Awsome!
I dentical architectural design of these fire scape stairs, has provided a good balance, and movement.
There another menaing clicking on my mind which is equality and fair. All habitant of this building have the same access to the same design, but,it is still unfair for those who lives on the higher levers of the building to scape all the way through fire scape.
Anyway...
I love this good framed shot.

Well done,
All the bests,
Ardalan.

Congrats on both your BIP & POD Sharon.

I like the graphical nature of this.

The black and white conversion is well executed, with those rich, black shadows, love it.

John

I had a look through your portfolio and this is quite a change from your other work. When i first saw the thumbnail I was sure it would be New York or perhaps San Francisco, so I was surprised when I saw where you'd made the capture. The subject suits black and white and you've composed and balanced the image very well, emphasing the complex maze of lines and shadows. I do find the border a little heavy for my taste, but I can see whay you'd want to put it up in your home.
Regards, Gary

Hi Nathan, thanks for the comments. Not Cumberland street, but close enough. The building is Consultancy House which is on a wee street behind the exchange. Great building but hard to photograph because of the width of teh street and the distortion of a wide lens!

Hi Sharon, thanks for your comments on my images.
My wife and i are from Dunedin and we have decided this must be taken around cumberland st somewhere, are we right? Fantastic composition and contrast. Congrats on the awards, very well deserved. you have an impressive portfolio

Wow, thanks! I love this old building and the pic's one of my favourites too and in fact is the only one of mine that I have framed and hung in the house (its quite expensive!) :0)

Sharon,

this is a fantastic image!! Somewhat perfect in every way! It reminds me of my favorite photographer(s), Bernd and Hilla Becher. There's a massive sense of fetail that you have in this image, that they always capture. Here, your image has a tight, compact swarm if lines, held back by the wonderful tall white polls.

Stunning. Print it. Hang it. ...get it on a magazine cover!

well done! 7++++

cheers,
-joel

Cool image Sharon. The lines are really enhanced by the black and white format. Congratulations!
