Really nice capture of a nice winter day (there are a few I guess). I like your choice in angle and focal length. The trees seem huge, the snow and sky very pretty. Good job.

Photoshop is a photo editing software program. There are several on the market like PictureIt, Adobe Photo Deluxe, etc. It just allows to edit images...change colour, remove or add things to the photos, etc.

Partly luck, but mainly being in the right place at the right time. We'd just had a gentle snowfall with no wind that left the snow on the trees. As we were out and about in the afternoon, the clouds started to part, leaving nice patches of blue sky in the background. I took several shots in about a half hour, waited for a cloud to start covering the sun so that the overall light was a bit diffused. The camera was on automatic exposure, so I tried metering off something darker in the scene, like the spruce trees, so that it would "open up a bit".

The color, and in particular the lighting, are incredible. How did you do that?? Luck/timing, or special camera know-how? Excellent photograph!
